Insights

What defines Hoeckle.

Hoeckle Austria

Precision with a history.
Responsibility for the future.

Since 1928, Hoeckle has stood for high-precision components, robust manufacturing processes and technical solutions built on experience, specialisation and continuous development.

Today, customer support, technology, manufacturing, metrology and quality assurance work closely together at our Langenegg site. The result is direct communication, clear responsibility and reliable series production solutions from a single source.

Our history

Engine expertise since 1928.

From a precision workshop in Stuttgart, Hoeckle has developed into a manufacturing partner for demanding series production programmes. Today, Hoeckle combines almost a century of experience with extensive modern manufacturing capabilities in Langenegg.

Roots in engine reconditioning

In 1928, Eberhard Hoeckle founded a cylinder and crankshaft grinding workshop in Stuttgart. Expert repairs to damaged engines soon developed into broad expertise in petrol and diesel engines.

Specialisation and series production expertise

Following reconstruction, Hoeckle developed into a specialist in high-precision crank mechanisms. International series production orders and the millionth crankshaft in 1964 mark key milestones.

Austria as a location for the future

Series production in Austria has been expanding since 2000. Today, sales, technology, manufacturing, metrology and quality assurance work closely together in Langenegg.

Power on the water

Boat engines were also part of Hoeckle’s historical range of applications. An original Hoeckle brochure shows built-up, rolling-bearing-supported four-cylinder crankshafts for two-stroke boxer boat engines, alongside a racing boat at full speed.

Technology for distinctive powertrains

Eccentric shafts for rotary engines extended the historical product range. The Interpol motorcycle on this brochure page represents a distinctive application and shows how varied powertrain requirements already were at the time.

Power for the construction site

From engines to tools: a historical Hoeckle brochure also lists cylinders for pneumatic percussion mechanisms in rotary hammers. The photograph shows one of these tools in use and recalls the variety of applications behind the components.

Milestones

A history of expertise, change and responsibility.

Foundation

Starting in Stuttgart

Eberhard Hoeckle establishes a cylinder and crankshaft grinding business and precision workshops at Marienplatz 12. Precision machining and work on engine components form the foundation of the company’s craftsmanship. These roots lead to its later specialisation.

Reconstruction

A fresh start and a plant in Mössingen

After the war years, Hoeckle rebuilds a robust manufacturing operation. Production continues at Marienplatz 12 in Stuttgart until 1952, while Mössingen is developed as a new location.

International expansion

First series production orders

Series production orders from the USA, followed by Scandinavia and Germany, mark the transition to industrial series production. Recurring volumes make coordinated workflows and consistent quality increasingly important. Individual machining steps become part of an integrated manufacturing task.

Series production expertise

One million crankshafts

The millionth crankshaft is delivered in 1964, a visible sign of growing manufacturing and process expertise. Behind this figure lie experience, established workflows and precision machining. The milestone makes the development from a workshop to industrial series production tangible.

Austria

Series production begins

The expansion of series production in Austria lays the foundation for today’s Langenegg site and new international programmes. Here, the company’s manufacturing expertise becomes part of the Bregenzerwald region. People, technology and practical manufacturing knowledge shape the site.

Growth

Part of the Jet Investment Group

Hoeckle becomes part of the Jet Investment Group and further develops its industrial structures, capacity and processes. The focus is on the interaction between organisation and manufacturing. Continued development of workflows supports the aim of reliably meeting complex customer requirements.

Management

Benjamin Maahs becomes CEO

The long-standing Head of Sales takes over the management of Hoeckle Austria GmbH, bringing customer focus and technical implementation even closer together. The focus is on the entire customer project: from the first technical discussions and the appropriate process chain through to implementation in manufacturing.

Independence

New ownership structure

Hoeckle becomes independent of Jet Investment and adopts a new strategic direction under private ownership. The new structure creates scope for further development, supported by technical expertise, close customer relationships and shared responsibility for the site.

Electric mobility

First pilot project

With a new focus on electric mobility, Hoeckle launches its first pilot project for future electric drive applications. This brings new component requirements and manufacturing tasks into focus. Experience in precision machining provides the foundation for exploring further applications.

Anniversary Coming Soon

100 years of Hoeckle

A century of experience, specialisation and technical expertise provides the foundation for the next stage of development. The anniversary is an opportunity to look back at people, ideas and shared achievements. More insights into 100 years of Hoeckle will follow.

Company philosophy

Responsibility from a single source

From the technical review of customer data to documented quality at delivery, the key steps remain closely connected.

Management

Close to technology and customers

Short decision paths connect sales, design, technology, production and quality assurance.
